Creedite - Radiating Peach Crystals
Specifications
Description
Ex. Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection An exquisite small-cabinet specimen of Creedite displaying dense, radiating clusters of delicately prismatic crystals in warm peach to soft apricot tones. This piece exemplifies the refined crystallization for which the Navidad Mine is justly celebrated. The specimen is richly covered on both sides with sprays of slender, needle-like crystals that burst outward in starburst formations. Individual crystals reach up to 9 mm across within the rosettes, each sharply terminated and exhibiting a bright, vitreous luster. The translucency is particularly attractive—light penetrates the clusters, giving them a glowing, almost effervescent quality. Subtle tonal variations from pale champagne to deeper honeyed peach create depth and visual warmth across the surface. The radial growth habit produces a sculptural, three-dimensional effect, with overlapping sprays creating texture and movement. Terminations are impressively well-preserved, with minimal visible damage, enhancing the specimen’s display appeal from multiple angles. Creedite, a rare calcium aluminum sulfate hydroxide mineral, forms as a secondary phase in oxidized lead deposits. The Navidad Mine remains one of the world’s premier sources of fine aesthetic examples. From the distinguished 60-year collection of Dr. Vasco Trancoso, this is a classic Mexican Creedite of both provenance and visual charm.
