An exceptionally attractive and refined green Fluorite on crystallized Pyrite from the celebrated Milpo Mine, distinguished by unusually deep color, excellent luster, gem transparency, and a superbly complete principal octahedron. The visual anchor is the 2.4 cm main Fluorite crystal, prominently elevated at the top of the specimen. It is a remarkably sharp, complete single octahedron with crisp geometric form and excellent termination on all sides. This degree of completeness is particularly important here: rather than presenting merely an attractive exposed face or partial crystal, the principal octahedron is developed as a complete three-dimensional crystal, giving the specimen considerable presence when viewed from multiple angles. Its color is outstanding—a saturated forest to emerald green, considerably richer than the pale or medium greens frequently encountered from the district. Despite this depth of saturation, the crystal retains impressive gemminess and genuine transparency. Light penetrates deeply into the octahedron, illuminating vivid emerald-green interiors while darker zones produce almost bottle-green depths. This combination of strong saturation without sacrificing transparency is one of the specimen's greatest strengths. The luster is equally impressive. Broad octahedral faces possess a bright, glassy brilliance, with sharp edges catching strong highlights and emphasizing the precision of the crystal geometry. Subtle internal features and minor natural surface textures add visual complexity without diminishing the crystal's remarkably gem-like appearance. Surrounding the principal crystal are several additional green Fluorites ranging from bright transparent green to much deeper forest-green individuals. Many are themselves gemmy and lustrous, creating a pleasing progression of crystal sizes around the dominant octahedron. One crystal immediately to the right of the principal crystal shows a conspicuous flat contacted or cleaved surface where it likely grew against another mineral or cavity wall. This is the principal condition issue and should properly be disclosed, although it does relatively little to disrupt the specimen's frontal presentation. The Fluorite rests upon an exceptionally complementary matrix of sparkling crystallized Pyrite. Numerous brassy-gold Pyrite crystals form a highly reflective metallic foundation, providing dramatic contrast against the transparent emerald-green Fluorite. The balance is particularly successful: there is enough Pyrite to establish strong color and textural contrast without overwhelming the Fluorite, allowing the large octahedron to remain unquestionably dominant. From a collector's perspective, the specimen stands well above the more typical Milpo material. Green Fluorite is certainly known from this locality, but deeply saturated, truly gem-transparent octahedra of this quality and completeness are considerably less common than the district's more ordinary habits and less transparent examples. The specimen also offers excellent three-dimensional architecture. The principal crystal rises prominently above the Pyrite, while darker Fluorites descend through the composition, producing an attractive vertical arrangement and making the piece engaging from several viewing angles rather than only from a single presentation face. A particularly fine Milpo display specimen combining the locality's classic association with unusually high crystal quality: a complete, razor-sharp 2.4 cm octahedral Fluorite of intense forest-emerald green, superb glassy luster and remarkable gem transparency, surrounded by additional gem green Fluorites on a brilliant golden Pyrite matrix. The strong color contrast, excellent crystal placement, and exceptional principal octahedron give the piece the sophisticated appearance of a much more elevated Peruvian Fluorite.
