Description

Ex. Daniel “Dan” R. Kennedy Collection An elegant and highly aesthetic specimen featuring a superbly developed, gem-quality twinned Calcite crystal dramatically poised atop a glittering Apophyllite matrix. The Calcite is the undeniable focal point—large, sharply defined, and exhibiting a refined contact twin with excellent symmetry and presence. Its color is a rich honey-yellow to golden amber, intensifying toward the core and giving the crystal a warm, luminous depth. The internal transparency is exceptional, with a glassy, almost liquid clarity that allows light to travel through the crystal, revealing subtle internal zoning and delicate veils. Surface textures across the crystal faces—fine growth patterns and geometric sculpting—interact beautifully with the vitreous luster, enhancing visual complexity without detracting from the crystal’s purity. The Calcite rises from a dynamic, cascading base of Apophyllite, composed of tightly packed, sharply terminated crystals and microcrystalline druse. These colorless to faintly milky Apophyllite crystals provide a brilliant, sparkling contrast, both texturally and optically, to the smooth, gemmy Calcite above. The interplay between the luminous golden Calcite and the icy brilliance of the Apophyllite creates a striking and balanced composition. The overall structure is distinctly sculptural—almost architectural—with the Calcite appearing naturally “mounted” atop its crystalline pedestal. Jalgaon specimens of this caliber, combining large gem-quality Calcite with such refined presentation, are highly sought after and increasingly scarce on the market. This is a quintessential display specimen: a harmonious blend of color, clarity, form, and contrast. For the discerning collector, it represents the finest qualities of Indian zeolite-suite mineralogy elevated to a near-museum level of aesthetic perfection. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qUjBHHpywY
