Description

The world-famous mining localities throughout Shigar Valley are lauded for producing large quantities of high-quality pegmatite specimens, such as Aquamarine and Zoisite. It is, however, rare to find specimen-grade Zircons from here, and this is a very dramatic one! These intergrown Zircon crystals are stacked atop upward and aesthetically presented on a feldspar-rich matrix, which is sprinkled with lustrous, black blades of amphibole. With the largest reaching 2.6 centimeters across, each Zircon has a well-formed prismatic habit with pyramidal terminations and stands out beautifully with a rich orange-red hue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U82zN5BBhl0
