Description

An impressive and sculptural cabinet specimen of pale green fluorite from the renowned Xia Huang Pu Mine, displaying exceptional clarity and beautifully developed cubic form in a commanding 14 × 11.5 × 8.5 cm cluster. This piece is composed of intergrown fluorite cubes exhibiting soft celadon to whisper-pale green coloration, transitioning in places to nearly water-clear transparency. The luster is bright and vitreous, with broad crystal faces reflecting light in smooth, glassy sheets. Edges are well-defined and crisp, forming a geometric landscape of stepped cubes and modified faces that create strong architectural presence. What distinguishes this specimen most is its remarkable internal clarity. Several cubes contain expansive gem zones—crystal-clear interiors that open like luminous windows within the pale green framework. When backlit or viewed under focused lighting, these transparent areas glow with icy brilliance, revealing subtle internal zoning and faint phantom-like growth structures. The interplay between translucent outer layers and crystal-clear cores gives the specimen depth and dimension that photographs struggle to fully capture. The cluster is naturally arranged in a dynamic, multi-level formation, with overlapping cubes creating depth and movement across the composition. Minor edge nicks are present, limited to a few tiny points along some cube edges—common for fluorite of this size—and do not detract from the specimen’s overall visual impact or display quality. Fluorite from Xia Huang Pu is celebrated for its clarity and refined coloration, and examples combining large scale, gemmy interiors, balanced form, and strong luster are increasingly difficult to source. This is a bold, display-worthy fluorite that unites sculptural geometry with crystalline purity. The gem-clear zones elevate it beyond a standard pale fluorite cluster, placing it firmly in the realm of connoisseur cabinet specimens from one of China’s most respected fluorite localities.
